Feliway plug in

I've been looking at getting a couple of Feliway diffusers as well as some spray to hopefully help some anxiety issues with our new cat.

Does anyone know if the diffuser is the same as the ones you can get for killing mosquitoes?

We keep getting free diffusers every time we buy anti-mosquito refills, and we've got a drawer full of unused ones at the moment. It seems stupid to buy more if we could just use those and buy the Feliway refills.

Re: Feliway plug in

O don't think so - but you could just by a feliway refill and try it - and if it doesn't work buy the diffuser.

Re: Feliway plug in

Thanks (and thanks for the photos, buffie).

I'm still not sure, to be honest. We have got the screw in type diffusers, but the bottle looks slightly different - doesn't mean the screw part is different, of course! I've ordered one diffuser, plus an extra refill. At least I'll be able to plug one in straight away, even if I can't use the second one.

Re: Feliway plug in

I would like to know the same thing. I have some mosquito repellent diffusers, which also have a screw in thingiemajig. Looks very much the same as the feliway. However, I am terrified that it may cause an electric short and start a fire.
Anyone tried this?

Re: Feliway plug in

I wouldn't. Why take such a risk, just to save a few bucks? Not worth it, buy the diffuser that goes with the feliway refill and have peace of mind.

Go to zooplus. Much chepear than Petsat home! I nearly fell off my stool when I saw their refill price the day after I bought mine. They have the diffuser cheaper too!

If they fit, it won't cause an electric short. They'll fit because Feliway and the anti-mosquito company use the same supplier for the diffusers and bottles, and just put their own product in the bottles and have the diffusers branded with their company name. (That's if they fit, of course.)

I've bought one Feliway diffuser because I want to make sure I can use it as soon as I get it, but if the refills do fit the diffusers I already have, I'll use those as well. I hate waste, and those diffusers have been sitting in a drawer for a year waiting for me to find a use for them.

Does anyone know how long a refill lasts, if it's in use continuously?

I kept mine plugged in 24/7 and it lasted approx 26/28 days.I always changed them before they dried out to be on the safe side.Just to let you know I found them very helpful while I was working through behaviour issues with my Ragdoll ,I used them for a year and have been without now for a couple of months ,and all seems to be well on track,at last.
