My anger is building.. Don't think I can bite my lip

My cat had kittens a while ago, about 4 - 6 months ago roughly. She's a moggy, and she was supposed to have been neutered by a different vet but incidentally wasn't (which we wasn't aware about) I can't say much more as it's a legal matter now and I'm not supposed to.

Anyhow, she got pregnant by being outside. We did everything we could for her, kitten food (high quality) and started researching, alot from TB. We had a rough start as one died, Slinky kept moving the kittens, one didn't put on weight, poop everywhere when they started litter training, bled us dry of money as we had them vaccinated before leaving and there were 5 kittens! We also got them all microchipped and just changed details over (the people who bought the kittens paid for the changing). I did a quite good kitten pack, toys, blanket, photos of when they were born, their puppy ID bands that they had, care sheet, FAQ, list of suitable foods that I would reccomend, info on raw feeding, illnesses, etc. They bled us dry of money, but it was all worth it - needless to say she went to our normal vet and was spayed.

WHILST all this was going on, my OH's sister's friend's cat Pickle had a litter a week before ours. She had three, they weren't the most friendliest (they were rarely handled), didn't eat and fed off mum til 8 weeks old, one was born with no tail. They were letting her outside after giving birth within the first week for a ''toilet''. They didn't do anything with the kittens and just sold them at 8 weeks - 10 weeks old.

What did I see on my OH's sisters status on FB? "is hoping to see Pickle have some kittens this evening! :-)"

That means she wouldn't have had much if any of a break from her last litter? That poor cat, I'm trying to bite my lip and not say anything... It breaks my heart, at least after my accident I had the decency to make sure my pet was neutered. Once was too much for my cat, I could never imagine her having more and more, it's disgusting. I've already rocked far too many boats where my OH's family are concerned over not seeing grandkids, or asking baout them, being selfish and la la, his mum trying to tell me not to handle our newborn kittens cos Slinky would disown them, and recently told us our new puppy (boxer) was on the dangerous dogs list.

But seriously... How many more litters is this kitten going to have? I don't think it's even grounds for a complaint is it?

Re: My anger is building.. Don't think I can bite my lip

LOL! But what gets me is that when we had our litter, yes we had 5 of them I think for the 12 weeks we had them we spent about £300. And we only sold them for £30 so we were really out of pocket (not that money has much to do with ours, but this is what I can't fathom)

Unless they're being fed on shops on kitten brand or dried food I have no idea why they keep letting her have kittens? Cos they can't be bothered to get her fixed or don't want to spend £75 ish on getting her spayed? You can even get it for under £30 on the blue cross...

Anyone allowing their cat to get pregnant is irresponsible. There is no need.

Neutering should be a condition of pet ownership.

Re: My anger is building.. Don't think I can bite my lip

I have no idea about complaints etc but I really can't understand why people don't want to get their cats neutered. Unless they are a reputable breeder of course! That poor kitty!

Did she get the one with no tail checked out at the vet?
