Poor Indy :(

Hi all,

Sorry if it seems like i am making something out of nothing, but i am really upset tonight because of Indy.

I was taking something out of the cupboard earlier on and a small glass bowl fell out and smashed all over the floor. Indy was right behind me as she always is and she jumped a mile !!

I cleared up the glass and we carried on with our dinner we started to notice that Indy was rubbing her right eye alot and seemed to be shutting it more than opening it.

We watched her for a while and seemed to be getting worse so we came to the conclusion that some glass had got in her eye

I took her straight to the vets, i was freaking out because i cannot stay calm when i am worried about my cats being hurt !

The vet put a dye in her eye but found it very hard to check all of her eye as she kept on moving her 3rd eyelid and it was getting in the way.
She said her cornea looked fine, which was good news and told me that if glass had been in there, it had probably come out already.
However because she had really been rubbing her eye, it could get infected regardless, so gave her a pain killer and some eye drops.

As she was constantly rubbing it she advised me to put a collar on her tonight
which when i came home to do, OH and me could not physically get it on her because she was protesting so much.

So i had to go back up to the vets for them to do this...so £104.00 later.my poor baby is walking around trying with all her might to get her collar off

I am hoping in the morning, it will look better and i can take it off.

I really don't know how i will cope when my cats are in a position of being really ill...god forbid..because i really do not think i will be able to deal with it, it scares me how much i love them

Thinking of other members fur babies at the moment who need so many good healing vibes sent to them and i wish them all well

Love Kelly xx

Re: Poor Indy :(

Oh no, poor Indy. I hope you feel better soon.

Hopefully the glass just hit her lid and flew off.

I know what you mean about when they get injured. Moriarty fell in the snow a couple of years ago and banged his face.

His nose swelled up and he had a bad graze. I dug my car out of the snow with my walking stick and drove him to the vet. He had an injection of anti inflamatories and was fine after a couple of hours and the graze went quickly. But my nerves were frayed until the snow had gone over a month later.

They are our baby's and we worry.

When a dog of ours got very badly hurt a few years ago when I was at home. I was amazed at how calm I was under the pressure. I fell to pieces afterwards. I think when they are in an a dire emergency it's different and you kind of just act.

You did what you needed to do for her and that's what counts.

Hope this helps hun

Em xxxxx
