New kitten.

We got another boy yesterday. 11 week`s old. Long hair.
Picked him up and right to the vet`s for his frist shot.
But he really need`s a bath, his coat is durty and sticky.
And he need`s his ear`s cleaned as well.

But he is really scard ( spelling ? ) and is hidding under the bath tub. Where he has been sence I got him home for the most.
He has come out to eat and use the liter box. And one tiny play time with me.

Will I put him in shock if I give him a bath now, or should I wait. ? poor baby.

I will a post a pic, when I can get one.

Re: New kitten.

Re: New kitten.

I really wouldn't try and bathe him as he sounds a little scared and shell shocked by the move, if you have to I would give him a good wipe over with a damp flannel or you can get bath like wipes from Pets at Homes failing that a few baby wipes, but yes I would leave him to settle for a while yet before the trauma of a bath.

No don`t mind at all.

A friend told me about a women that had some kitten`s she want`s to give away.
I believe there all outside cat, kitten`s. But there healthy so the vet said.
Just durty from the building`s around the farm.

Ya was thinking he`s going to hate me for doing it, if I wait or not...
But it might make him feel so much better being clean and brushed.
I don`t know..

Re: New kitten.

I would use bathing wipes or baby wipes and place the wipe in the palm of your hand so as you are wiping him it is more like ypu are just stroking him. I have had to do many clean ups of smelly or dirty kittens and baby wipes have been great for this. As for the ears.... did the vet check them? If there is no sign of mites I would leave cleaning them for a little while until you can handle your new kitten a little better and when he a little less stressed.

Poor baby I hope he comes round to you handling him etc soon good luck xxxxxx
