3M/Scotch 'Fur Fighters' Products in the UK?

Having bought a Fur Fighter kit & refills on previous US trips, we're running out now and I can't seem to find anywhere in the UK that stocks these products.

I know it's a long shot, but does anybody happen to know whether there's a company in the UK that imports these products - they're better than anything I've ever tried for removing fur from soft furniture/fabrics.

We've resorted to hoovering the final refill while we search...
I tried emailing 3M UK, but there was a fault on their 'contact us' website page and eBay only has US-based sellers with significant shipping charges.

I'm not sure about anywhere else but I know amazon.com will deliver from America to UK for a reasonable price.

Are these fur fighters that good?

You're right, chris9: I'd assumed the shipping charges would be awful (having had bad experiences with customs, etc. before) but I ordered from Amazon US and have got one starter kit (with 5 refills) & 4 packs of 8 refills coming for $26.76, which equates to around £16.25. This puts me under the £18 UK customs barrier so I ought not to have to pay anything extra this end.

We've also discovered that you can vacuum the fur off the refills many times to make them last longer, so this lot ought to keep my whole family fur-free for a long, long time.

While these are designed for soft furnishings (sofas, chairs, etc.) we've found they're also very good at de-furring fleece blankets etc. before going into the wash.

I can only speak for my friends and family's experiences - but yes, this kit is by far the best method we've found for getting fur off furniture & fabric - you literally brush it along the fabric and the fur sticks to the Velcro-like hooks on the pad's surface.

Glad I could help, I'm going to order some of these myself

That sounds brilliant! I suppose that if enough people ask in Zooplus they might stock it, no?

Re: 3M/Scotch 'Fur Fighters' Products in the UK?

Hi guys,

I was searching for a solution as well and stumbled over this item: Willkommen bei www.tierhaarentferner.de | Welcome to www.tierhaarentferner.de

I got mine today (at the moment there is a special offer buy 2 get 3, shipping 5 EUR to the UK) and of course tried them out immediately on my cats' most loved fleece blanket, then I did the bed and so on and so on...

I am absolutely stunned about the results and my jumper looks like a jumper again and I think I removed a whole cat fur during my cleaning action. The tool is really simple - a handle and a rubber top which works like an eraser. It brings out the hair which even the hoover can't remove (and I have a really good hoover). The best is that no refills are needed, so no follow-up costs.

So the product keeps its promises from the ads and it was also awarded with a bronce medal at the Nuremberg inventors fair.

Unfortunately the website is in German only, so if someone is interested and needs help with the language I am happy to assist. Or may be a wholesaler like mutley & mog is interested in stocking... there are 3 different products: 1 for carpet floors, 1 for textiles like blankets, cloths, upholstery and a 3rd for textiles with a little comb which makes it easier to pick up the loose hair.

let me know what you think
cheers
heide
