Re: when do cats have their first season/heat?

If this little one is not to be bred from please get her spayed, you say she is small, so is my Nim, Nim is tiny but she was spayed last week, the vet will not spay a cat that is not big enough.

Also it is unfair and can be very unhealthy for a female cat not to be spayed.

yes they do not like vet visits but it is the best thing for her.

Re: when do cats have their first season/heat?

Our kittens are both indoor cats (a boy and a girl) but we're still getting them both neutered. It's not pleasant for a female cat to go into heat without good reason, so I agree with the others that it's best to get her spayed. I would say that leaving her to call will be more stressful than a very straightforward, routine operation, most of which she'll know nothing about as she'll be zonked out! It's also healthier (physically) for a non-breeding female cat to be neutered.
