May seem like a really stupid question but....

...is seaweed harmful to cats?

I'm only asking because my little terror of a 10 week old kitten has decided to break into the cupboard and eat a sheet of Nori that my boyfriend feed's his marine fish.

Not sure if I should be concerned or not especially after she's just been given the all clear from the Vets after having a really bad case of the runs and was a bit porley last weekend.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I have no idea as plaque off is made from seaweed but it is only a tiny amount that they have, if I were you I would phone the vets and ask them with a view to maybe having to take him in.

OK. they Vet isn't really sure buy they've asked all the vets at the surgery and they don't seem to think that it'll cause her any harm. They've told me to keep an eye on her just in case it does make her porley. Phew!!

Will have to keep the fish food under lock and key now me thinks! Little bugger she is!

They are actually good for them (though I've never given nori because I'm afraid my cat may choke on it as I nearly did it myself a few times).
There are in zooplus some algae based food supplements and they're supposed to make their fur darker and glossier.

That's interesting to know. Might have to look into it. She obviously likes it. Complained when I cheaned it all up. At least I feel better about it now. Had a proper panic this morning to find it shredded down the hallway and half the packet gone.

She does eat the strangest things! Table confetti, Leaves, Flies and I even caught her with a dead wasp in her mouth. Luckily she didn't get stung but the receptionists know who I am when I phone now lol

Don't worry about him eating flies, they are quite nutritious to cats. Think of it as pest control! One of my cats is an ace fly catcher - we haven't been bothered by flies in the kitchen all summer thanks to him. So that's how he pays his way...not sure about the other two critters though, hmmmm....!

Tabitha's the same bless her. Anything comes in and she goes potty until it's stupid enough to fly within reach then smack gulp it's gone.

Moriarty on the other hand just watches it then goes back to sleep when it's gone.

Cats are great.

He was NOT impressed. I, on the other hand, was PMSL!!!!!!!!
