Sphynx wanted

Does anyone have a retired Sphynx breeding queen in need of a home, we have been looking now for the past twelve months and have our names down with a few breeders.
We have 6 cats so whichever sphynx we have must get on with other cats, ours are all indoors and we have 1 Siamese which we breed, 1 NFC, 1 MC, 1 Exotic and 2 Persians.
We also have our name on the sphynx association too but it seems they prefer them to be 'only' cats.

Re: Sphynx wanted

Still searching if anyone knows where I can find one...it is so difficult, I have been searching for twelve months, many ads have been scammers trying to get people to send money and kitten will come by courier...I'm not so naive but some people are and will readily pay their money in the hope of a Sphynx.

If anyone can help at all please let me know.

Why an ex breeding queen? Can you not find a breeder and adopt a kitten?

Re: Sphynx wanted

We like to give homes to adults in need, working from home we can give all our attention and devotion as we devote our lives to our cats... we have the pleasure in our own Siamese kittens which we breed for 13 weeks before they go to new homes.

We have given a home to many adult pedigrees..Apart from Mia our Siamese alll our other cats came to us as adults all with different backgrounds.

Our Persian, Chloe came with her brothers (they have left for Rainbow Bridge) their owner had died and the widowed husband was finding it hard to cope and left them to roam, they were flea ridden and badly matted, We had them health checked and looking like Persians again within a couple of days, it was so sad to see the man in such a destressed state too...Chloe has a spinal/neuro problem whereby she falls over as her back legs are so weak, she is often chaufered round the home by us as we live in a 3 storey home, the cats room being downstairs on the ground floor and our lounge being on the first floor...she calls us to carry her.

We had another Persian pts last week at 15 years old, he came with his brother (now passed on) their owners had lost their home and business.

Paris was a retired breeding queen and Isak just wasn't wanted, he was bred in Scotland, went to new owner in London, she couldn't cope with the problems she caused giving him cows milk so he was sent to live with his breeders friend in Milton Keynes before joining us here in Derbyshire...he was 6 months old and travelled nearly as much as I have! It took his digestive system some time and some trips to the vets but he has no problems at all now.
Dave our Exotic came to us when his breeder rang and asked if we would take him, she had put us in touch with the man widowed previously with the Persians as they were what she had bred.
Dave has a respiritory problem being so flat faced, he has injections regularly to open up his airways, he wont have a long life but we are hopeful to get him to his 4th birthday in November at least, newcomers find his breathing somwhat strange and keep their distance from him until they realize he is no threat to them and just wants to be friends.

So this is why we like to give adults a home...it is all so easy to go and buy a kitten but we like a challenge and love to know how happy they are with all the attention given.

Re: Sphynx wanted

I just sounds so specific.

There are lots of adult cats in need at local shelters. Why does it specifically have to be a Sphynx?

Re: Sphynx wanted

Obvious reason...I love them and want one, I have met some very friendly people who are trying to help and a few really nice breeders who have kept my details, I have had some lovely e-mails from very nice owners but also there is the odd snotty ones on forums etc.
I have just had a lovely lady ring me who has offered one to me, she sounds so friendly and I have invited her here to see her cat whenever she wants.
Looks like I not only have found the Sphynx but also found a new friend too...can't be bad.
