Angry 6 week old kitten - but they've had cats before, so it's FINE.

ARGH

Was on facebook and see a photos of this tiny kitten... hiding from their dog.
Is it a resue? No.
It's SIX weeks old.
I've ranted to him before about irresponsible breeding, before this kitten was even conceived.
So WHY would he go ahead and do this.
Oh no but the best bit, they've had cats for years, so they know what they're doing and trust him, IT'S FINE.
Oh really? Is it?
He won't even answer me, the third time I've asked if it's even been wormed.
I can't cope. I genuinly can't. My heart is pounding and I can feel my blood pressure through the roof. He just won't listen.
He doesn't think he's being selfish. He said it's cute.

Someone just shoot these idiots please

Sadly all you can do is to try and educate people, you can't actually control other peoples actions, however by telling people you can help some kittens but sadly not all.

Re: 6 week old kitten - but they've had cats before, so it's FINE.

I've just had a rant because a friend of mine decided she wanted a puppy because... and I quote.... she saw another friend with a puppy and it was so cute she wanted one so she found out a family friend was selling puppies and bought one - she hasn't researched the breed or if it's suitable or anything and has bought it a bed but is now fussing that it will wreck the house, not a well thought through purchse.

grrrrr sadly people breed kittens and puppies (or any animal) because they think its a way to make money and then others (like my friend) come along and buy them and fuel the fire so to speak. This country needs a breeding ban for a period of time (apologies to those of you who breed sensibly and correctly etc) to try to cut down on homeless or stray/feral animals OR my preferred route... which is an exam to prove you are fit to breed and care for the animals and a certification from a vet and then anyone taking the animal on should have to research and then sit an exam to prove they are fit to have the animal!! Not fool proof I know but some of the people I had to try to get to listen to me when I worked in a pet store... damn I wish I could've had more control!

Luckily we do have people like Kelly-joy and the others who do such great work, problem is that they shouldn't have to do SO much of it, genuine re-homes due to circumstances are a way of life and going to happen but over breeding and irresponsibility can be avoided!

Ahem.. rant over.

I feel ill I slept with that ****head

I honestly feel like hitting him.

I wish I could do something to help more rescues. Eventually I'll rescue a dog, once Dino is past the teenage stage..
I wanted to foster cats but Cutie is immensely territorial so i couldn't.
I donate when I can but being a student I can't as much as I'd like to :/

While I agree with your viewpoint, of the cat being too young, getting peoples' backs up by "ranting" at them will only close their minds to what you're trying to say.

As I tell my teenage son, "When you speak to people with an attitude, they will not hear what you are saying they will only hear your attitude."

Please don't take that as me 'having a go', I just think that people get soooo...shall we say passionate about their beliefs(?) that, to others, it may come across as somewhat militant and I think we know that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. (I know it's cliché but it is true nonetheless)
