Please don't take that as me 'having a go', I just think that people get soooo...shall we say passionate about their beliefs(?) that, to others, it may come across as somewhat militant and I think we know that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Very good advice, I was actually ranting to someone else not the friend with the puppy but perhaps should have made that clearer for the OP to see. Rather than encourage the ranting.

Sadly even the honey doesn't always work - some humans just have the mentality that they want an animal and will keep it as they see fit because they are able to control it and it belongs to them, met a lot of those in the industry. Even being nice doesn't work. I bet your son was brought up to respect animals and people alike, whereas a lot of young kids I've run into are brought up to expect to be given everything on a plate and to get what they want just by nagging.. "i want".... I shouldn't tar them all with the same brush though. Some of the kids I've met actually were encouraged responsibly by their parents about buying an animal. Just needs tighter measures on breeding and selling in this country I feel, as not everyone follows good guidelines!

I don't think you're having a go Don't worry lol I don't mind people being blunt, I prefer it.
The reason I ranted at him is because he already knows! I've spoken to him about other people before. Well before he got this kitten. I got pissed off because the education obviously hadn't worked!
For people who i've never spoken to about it before, I go the nicey nicey route about ohh well this can happen and that can happen and it's really best if you do this cos of this or that. Rather than "you ***ing ****** ***** ********************" lol

Oh, I agree. Some people just won't listen no matter what you say. That's when I smile at them and say that if ignorance was bliss, they must be in heaven. No, not really. Okay, well, maybe once or twice depending upon how obnoxious they were.

Usually I just save my breath for someone who seems to be open to it. Can't win 'em all, as they say.

I just hope the kitten pulls through OK!

Overheard this bloke on public transport today saying he would have to get rid of the dog as she is pregnant...just despair!! Its the animals I feel for, they don't get to choose their healthcare or birth control!! But then being made homeless when the stupid human doesn't organise it proprly for them...wrong on so many levels!

Some people really need to get a life. 11pm on a Thursday night, and the best thing you have to do is troll a pet forum?!

Of course its not fine, they cant teach the kitten to be cat no matter what, only mother cat can do that and nurture this wee one as she/he deserves.
Sad people do this to their own pet, separate them from their mother and siblings.
