This past week I have been trying, on behalf of The Ragdoll Rehome Group, to "rescue" a stud boy - initially he was being advertised on one of the free sites as "free" due to his vaccinations being lapsed. I was told initially that yes we could have him and was just arranging collection when we were told that someone had already set off from another part of the country to get him so we would have to wait to see if they took him. I was NOT happy.

I pointed out that it was likely whoever was coming up was going to take him and probably use him and sell him on. Of course the boy went - I was very upset for him. The owners who had let him go tried to reassure me by saying that the person who had took him was an animal technician - this did not.
Over the weekend when perusing the free site - who should be on there but this stud boy - the advert was dated two days previous - they had only had him 24 hours before putting him back on the site as a "stud" and asking £100.

It is not our Group's policy to buy cats, they are usually surrendered. I did approach (as someone looking for a stud) and asked for him and more details just to confirm my suspicions it was the same boy. It was. To cut a very very long story short yesterday was a very exhausting day with loads of emails, phone calls, texts and not a little confusion at some points(!) etc trying to secure this boy. So many people offered various forms of help but we were stuck on trying to arrange transport for this boy from the Midlands up to Cheshire.
Kelly Joy came up trumps.
The Ragdoll Rehome Group really want to say a
HUGE thank you for Kelly-Joy and one of her volunteers especiallyCaroline, who will be meeting the boy's foster carer today.
So many people made such a concerted effort yesterday to help secure this lad (he has had a few homes as I can put together) - friends of friends, other breeders - also the support from Traditionalist Ragdoll Cat Society but again it was Kelly Joy who made our huge headache of moving the cat so much easier.
