Thanks

The pics of Max don't quite show it, he's lost more than half of his tail. It happened some time back before he adopted me, when he lived next door.

My neighbours don't know for sure exactly what went on, but they had workmen in fitting new c/h when Max suddenly vanished and wasn't seen for days. For a cat who wasn't keen on being outside this was a major panic situation.

When he finally reappeared his tail was in a right state, and altho' the workmen denied knowing anything about it, the best guess is they somehow managed to trap his tail in a door/whatever. He's been fine since the amputation, but woe betide anybody who touches the end of his remaining tail.

Re: I really should have known better

Finally, #2 cat Fudge tried it out last night

Nothing unusual in that per se, but she's been going thro' one of her regular phases where coming into the house for anything but food is a big no-no, often being fed outside, and it's lasted for around 10 days this time.

It happenes about once a year (in winter last time) and I've yet to find out why she does it, but it means she must spend 95% of her time outside in all weathers. Bringing her in and locking the flap only results in her miaowing and pawing at the flap trying to get out.

I had hoped she'd curl up and sleep on the footrest but no, as I was getting ready to go to bed she jumped down and headed for the recently painted windowsill and jumped up. She settled down at one end so I left her, tho' I wasn't confident she'd still be there today but she was

A more contrary cat I've yet to see or hear about.

Re: I really should have known better

A quick pic taken yesterday morning with Fudge on the footrest and Bola and Max on the sofa (in my place I might add) both waiting patiently, but pointlessly, for her to move

It must be comfy for her to be willingly so close to them.
