Strays under my decking

A kitten has moved in under the decking in my garden, with what I'm guessing are it's parents visiting daily. My cat doesen't seem too bothered by them being there but I know it can't go on living under there. We put food and water out for it but I think the father is taking most of it. I'm not sure if the mother and father are strays as they come and go throughout the day but as soon as I try to get near to the kitten it disappears under the decking. I've no idea where they've came from and would really appreciate some advice on what to do as it can't be good for the kitten living outdoors. The ironic thing is, we originally got our cat as we read the only reliable way of keeping other cats out of a garden was to get your own Tom cat, it seems to have had the opposite effect

Re: Strays under my decking

You could try contacting a local rescue.

They prob could catch it (or put out a humane trap to catch it) then also look after the little mite and eventually find it a loving home

Re: Strays under my decking

Hmm, the father certainly would not be visiting a kitten, cats dont have that sort of relationship with their kittens. How old is the kitten underneath?

Definitely agree with merothe, contact a rescue to get them into some sort of rescue.
