I dont have that much of a problem with the changing of the tray but like i say in my last post i am not used to cats having a litter tray for a long time. i am sure by this age the other cats went outside.
Cats best oko plus.

Cats Best Öko Plus biodegradable Cat Litter Bargains at Zooplus

Honestly never had any wee smells, and only poo smells if they are a bit runny, other than that, its absolutely fine, and its in a fairly small bathroom (2 trays)

Re: How to get cat to 'go' outside??

another alternative would be gradually put the tray out into the garden, when the cat is used to going outside then dispose of the tray, or maybe use newspaper and gradually dispose of the paper

As a matter of interest how old is your kitten and has he been neutered.

I used to use Catsan, which went stinky v quickly. I changed to Cat's Best and no smells at all now. It's fab. I would def recommend.

Re: How to get cat to 'go' outside??

how much food per day??

Dexter is only nearly 5 months yes?

He is honestly a bit young to be going out. Is he going out 'full stop' or is your garden cat proofed.

I would prefer to keep him indoors until he is around a year so he could fend for himself. I imagine hes not yet neutered (mine were done at 6 month) so his pee might be a bit smelly if the hormones are kicking in, so ask your vet if they can neuter him now)
buffie likes this.

plus if they neuter him now he will be safe with the ladies when he does go out
and he'll not mind you keeping him in for him to recover from the surgery because he wont be used to going outside sounds like a good plan

Totally agree on both counts.Dexter is far too young to be going outside unsupervised and definitely must be neutered,if not already done.
