Re: After advice. Please help

Thank you.

Yes I won't be going near her unless she wants me to approach her. She is very stressed out and in pain after her operation as she now has an infection in the site, which her vet has treated.

I am just finding it hard right now as it really was a scary few minutes

Best of luck and I hope she feels better soon.

Re: After advice. Please help

She had her biopsy results today and thankfully it was nothing sinister. My husband said it was a plack or flack?? something or other, he went to the vet with her this evening for her post op check.

She is very sore though as the site has become infected as her stitches haven't held well. The vet has treated her now. I am giving her pain relief daily too.

Thank you.

I am scared she may never settle again and I really want to avoid rehoming

He would attack my face and bite me on the chest etc. Tried feliway, bach remedies and zyklene and none of it worked. We rehomed as a single cat and he became a typical raggie.

Re: After advice. Please help

I don't have any helpful advice to add really but my cat attacked me once when he was very stressed (like your's, due to multiple factors including an encounter with a dog).

It was very frightening - he bit my hand, with incredible force and speed, twice, right down to the bone and i ended up in A+E.

A cat that is in that highly stressed, aggressive state is very powerful, fast and very determined and, like you, i was nervous of him for a while afterwards. I think when you see them like that you see a very scary side to your lovely placid pet that you never would have believed existed.

Oh, and infection can cause confusion too, which along with everything else might have contributed to your cat's behaviour.

It sounds like you're doing everything right. I can understand your concern for your children but give yourself time to get over the shock and your cat chance to settle again before thinking about rehoming.

And you have my sympathy - i was really scared too...

I mentioned my raggie's story to show you how stressed a cat could be and how quickly it can change. He was evil whilst he was with us and changed over night when he was a single cat. we tried for years to work with him and nothing made any difference. Hopefully once your poor cat realises that the dog is not going to get to her/felway kicks in she will be back to normal.

Thank you Amelia jane

That sounded very scray, I hope you were ok and it wasn't anything too serious,

It is very frightening and I am very wary of her, and am not sure how to cope with it but the vet said we are doing everything right.

r.

Re: After advice. Please help

I know Cazzer, it can't have been easy for you, I sympathise. It is a really difficult decision to rehome a pet.

I wasn't being funny towards your post at all.

Thank you x
