stray injured kitten found meowing to get into our cathouse!

its been a while since i have had time to come on here after having our baby - who is now nearly 8 weeks old!! i hope everyone and their kitties are well!
a couple of weeks ago we heard a meowing - a kitten squeaky meow - and when my OH went to look he saw a tiny tabby kitten trying to get through the fence of our cathouse. the kitten ran off on seeing him, but continued to meow. i went out a whistled him, and he came back and came to me. he had a damaged tail and a limp - cant imagine what has happened to him. we dont know of anyone that has lost a kitten in the area, so decided to keep him. he is only very young, about 8 weeks old. after losing my Mickey 3 months ago i had said i would not have any more cats....unless one turned up that really needed looking after and had nowhere else to go. Low and behold, one turns up.... im not sure my 13 year old cat, dylan, is too impressed. however, i did return home today to find the kitten (yet to be named) curled up with dylan on the settee.......... the kitten is so friendly. i had forgotten how playful kittens are!!! he wears us out just watching him play!!
when my OH first took the kitten to the vets they said the tail was healing nicely and would probably turn black and the bad part would fall off on its own. on saturday we found a maggot on the tail so took him back to vets who said its probably better to remove the bad part of the tail. so, he is on antibiotics at the moment and waiting to be booked in for the surgery.
just thought i would share this story with you, after my other posts have been somewhat distraught ones about my much missed mickey after losing him in such an awful way.

Congratulations on the birth of your Baby. Boy, Girl?
Seems like you have your hands full right now.
That little kitten was so lucky to land in your garden.
It's as if someone up there knew where to send him
Maybe if you pop a few pictures of him on here we can all come up with a few names for him
It sounds like Dylan has taken to him if he's allowing him to sleep next to him
It's sad when we loose our furry friends. Micky will always be with you.
Our memories never fade.
When we lost Boris our 16 year puss in a RTA we were devastated. It was while we were on Holiday.
A few weeks later we got little Chloe ( pictured at the bottom) she has helped us through our loss and kept me busy.

Keep us all updated and hope the tail gets better soon.
MoggyBaby and welshjet like this.

Always a pleasure to hear of folks such as yourself. WELCOME
Great of you for taking in the wee kitten only read the firt post- but hope the tail is OK as as far as I know damaged tails need to be surgically removed asap as when damaged the blood supply cuts off and this causes infections and all sorts of nasty things.
