That would be useful IndysMamma, do you use the carbon granules or the pads? My brother uses a clean scouring pad and the granules I think in his fish tank but does that work in the fountain?

I don't a link for it - I buy it by the scoop from a local aquarium store. It's just 'Activated Charcoal Granules' - looks like gravel.
