Wink Re: I'm confused, why..?

All my cats came to me- they are very much rescue, but I have never experienced getting one from a rescue home. Also, if you are looking to rescue a cat, try walking around your area, especially towns, as a surprising number of cats on the street have had a home at some point in their lives and may let you pick them up. These cats are not in danger of being put down, put their is no end to the ways in which they could die, and rescuing one of these is just as rewarding.

Re: I'm confused, why..?

A question to ask ? How would you know which cat has a home and was just out wandering and which did'nt ? I would'nt really recommend going round picking cats off the street, they could well be somebodies much loved pet

I agree with this. Some people let their cats out and they don't all have collars. Imagine the person's heartache when their darling fur-child did not come home one night ...

Re: I'm confused, why..?

i have to agree my cat would never wear a collar so if she was an outdoor cat i would have to send her out without a collar on.
If someone just picked her up and walked off with her, there would be hell to pay.
The amount of cats in my area that do not wear collars is very high.
Not good advice to be giving someone.
The whole point in rescuing a cat is to give them a better life.
You should be encouraging people to spend x amount of pounds on adoption fees rather then telling them to pick up a cat off the street in the hope it doesnt belong to someone

Absolutely agree - this suggestion is nothing short of an incitement to theft!

Re: I'm confused, why..?

Hehe I'm always saying that I'll go to the Shelter but being lazy as I am I've still put it up on hold

I'm kind of worried though, I don't have access to a car Somehow I think that will be a problem, don't know why but yeah

I think this is very irresponsible. My cat loses his collar all the time and though I don't live in a built up area I would hate to think that someome might just pick him up and take him home because they thought he was a stray
