Re: Bengal Attack
Hi Dawn,
I do think you are being quite wonderful in your concern for the other cats. Not like my neighbour who recently moved in with two Bengals. They enter our house at all hours and attack our cats even whilst asleep. Magnetic cat flaps are nothing to them and they will attack both kittens and old cats. My old cat was attacked a few days before he died whilst just sleeping in the sun. The neighbours are in denial and say all cats do that which of course is not true. They are being so nasty to us. Cats Protection are aware of Bengal behaviour problems but there is nothing they can do as by law all cats are free to roam. Feline advisory Bureau say the issue has been raised before and that they will discuss the problem again. Most breeders are in denial saying they are so loving. They are loving to humans in the main but not to other cats. Australia has banned them up to F5. They are beautiful animals and I know if I had one I would treat it like a dog and take it for walks and let it loose in a big field and run with it. (I used to take my moggies for walks in the field and they loved it! They race through the grass like you've never seen) There are so many stories like mine on the internet and often people take the law into their own hands and the Bengal suddenly disappears and that's not fair because he is only following his wild instinct. So yes please keep your Bengal in or cat proof your garden or take it out on a lead |
