Poor Moth :(

Moth had to have stitches today. He got into his first fight and basically the other cat caught his skin at the base of his tail and split the skin in one long, nasty gash.

I was thinking murderous thoughts about that other mog when it happened I can tell you. I'm sure I know which one it is, big fluffy Tom that comes in to my garden. My own cats very, very rarely leave their garden so it's horrible to have a 'bully' come in and do this.

Anyway, luckily Moth is fine and my vet is rather amazing. They put together an aftercare pack and it had a little card popped inside that says 'get well soon' and it's signed by the nurses that stitched him up... How many vets do that I wonder? Very lucky over here.

Anyway, Moth's getting spoilt rotten right now... I just needed to vent to people who would understand!

Sorry to hear about Moth, glad he is ok, my Scamp was in a fight last month and took a bit of a beating, luckily he only had two injections, he was most put out by the thermometer up his bum he had a puncture wound on his back leg, front paw and head, my main concern is his eye as he only has one (lost other after another fight, they just couldn't save it as infection set in and he went blind in it, just bad luck ) I know what you mean about the murderous thoughts I looked at every cat as the one that did it. Scamp is 16 now and you would think he would behave I have a great vet here but your one sounds amazing, can Scamp borrow your vet if needed

Re: Poor Moth :(

Aw poor Moth. I hope he managed to give big nasty Tom a few good swipes that might just keep him away for a bit.

A similar thing happened to my old Slugger a few years back - a big tom had moved into the area and was beating up all the cats. He managed to land a good one on 16yo Sluggie that needed a vet visit.

A few days later, the same tom was seen sitting on top of a nearby shed. In front of him were sitting a big Ginger Cat and a big White Cat. Yup, Oscar & Merson were laying down the law. After a few minutes, the tom cat slowly backed away, turned around and ran off, never to be seen again.

We reckon the two of them were saying something like "So you think you're big picking on an old cat do you? Well, get over here and take us on, let's see how tough you are now!!! Go ahead punk, make our day...... No? Gonna slink off are you.... Well, the next time you mess with our bro, you mess with the WHOLE family!!! Remember that!!!!!"

Oh, Merson & Oscar have just asked me to inform you that their bodyguard services are available for the very small fee of a tin of pilchards....

Ohhhh, isn't he lucky to be so well loved and taken care of?
Get well soon, Moth!

Scamp would like their services as he hasn't any brothers or sisters to help him

Haha! That would be very much appreciated. My dog is actually being rather protective over the garden lately... He and Moth are best friends so i'm sure he's on the look out for revenge!

Poor Scamp! They never learn do they Of course I wish everyone could have a vet like mine.

Everyone else - thanks very much. He's being quite clingy but that's fine as I work from home anyways. Lots of treats and fuss is being given. I bet he's having the time of his life!
