Recommendations for a water fountain please

I have decided to bite the bullet and buy a water fountain for Meeko the Merciless. Not sure it is going to be one of my better ideas as I have visions of water every where ,but,a boy needs to play Does anyone have an opinion on which is the best.Zooplus have a sale on at the moment and I was considering this one Cat Mate Pet Waterfall: great deals on food and drink dispensers at zooplus

Thumbs up Re: Recommendations for a water fountain please

We have this one:

Catit Pet Drinking Fountain for Cats & Small Dogs

It's great. We are limited for space and it's very small - it sits neatly in a corner of the dining room and doesn't get in the way at all. Both kittens enjoy it and I don't even notice the sound it makes anymore - a very low hum which is similar to a fish tank pump, but quieter.

It also looks very unobtrusive as far as water fountains go - we love it!

Re: Recommendations for a water fountain please

Yes that's right. It's not a waterfall effect like some of the others so may not be what you're looking for if you wanted it to fall down "from above" like some of them do! But it's the only one we liked the look of and it does the job.

Buffie we have two of the Cat Mate ones now, and wouldn't be without. They really are great and so easy to clean ... no little corners or crevasses for gunk to build up and fester

Can't wait to see how the boy likes his, which ever one you decide on. I can imagine the fun already

Re: Recommendations for a water fountain please

I have the CatMate one and it's been fantastic for my two boys. It's been running for the last few months no problems, and I clean it out regularly. A bit grossed out at the gunk that can get in their water, so it helps justify the choice to have a fountain (not that I needed much convincing). It's also super quiet and easy to put together.

They are drinking a bit more and one loves playing in it. The only problem is with catnip toys discolouring the water and although they seem to love 'Catnip Tea', I have to change it completely at least once every second day (or as often as they put the catnip mice in) as I'd prefer them to drink normal water. If you chuck one of those super absorbant towels (like the sham-wow) underneath it makes it a bit easier

Looks like that is the decision made.I thought I had read you singing the praises of Cat Mate.Even if it doesnt encourage him to drink more water I'm sure it will keep him entertained. He loves water, well , playing in it anyway.I'll let you know how we get on

As you can see he loves his last little present from the "zoo"

Aurelia and AlfiesArk like this.
