It's awful for him hen He's had fecal tests for TF which came back clear but he's not been tested for anything else so I'm going to start running through those and then onto allergy testing if that shows nothing. I'm thinking I'll get the allergy tests done anyway and sooner rather than later so that if the others DO come back clear then we're a step ahead for him.

It's literally black liquid - I'll try to get a photo so people can see what I mean. It must be dreadful for him

They can get stomach ulcers, yes, so it's another thing to look into xxxx

That was quite close up, it was about sort of i-phone size then there's always little spots round it and everywhere. It must be a nightmare for him.

That's what surprises me - he's not underwight, he's a normal size. His eyes are bright, his coat is shiny, he isn't tender in his abdomen, he's playful and loving - it's all so confusing xxxxx

I know his original owner had him tested for TF, I would get him tested again just in case.

How many tests were done for the TF Em?

I have seen before that TF needs to be tested multiple times as it can throw out false negs.

I second that.
I have been told that the only thing you can be sure about in TF is a positive test, a negative one might be negative but it could mean it wasn't in that sample.

It needs to be taken over a 24hr period, little bit from each poo. My vets did this over 3 days so they had a large enough window to catch it.

Cow pat type poos are very TF.
