If that is the standard for outdoor very few prospective owners would meet it. When they did finally turn up it was another female as the original was 'far too busy' to vet new owners and she came with a hippy, student type male. Both were adamant it was indoor cats only. It was their policy in my situation. Is there a hard and fast rule that you must be X distance from a road which must have Y amount of obstacles between it? Is there another carved in stone classifying roads?
All I know is they would not let me have a cat! Perhaps because I was so shocked and honest that I wanted an outdoor, they thought I might take an indoor and let it out anyway. I must say they were very disorganised and if everyone else in the area had as much difficulty actually getting them to come, then many cats were potentially left without good homes. I thought homing cats was their core responsibility but came away with the impression it was incidental as they were too busy to see me and lost my details a few times. When I phone no one had any record of my interest and I always had to start all over again. As I thought they relied on volunteers I accepted this.

And that is why people turn to back yard breeders and pet shops. A crying shame, really, when so many kitties are in need of good homes.
