Can anyone recommend a good harness, please?

I occasionally take my two burmese out in the garden on their harnesses, but I'm sick to the back teeth of the wretched things. (The harnesses, not the cats!). They're made of a sort of slippery woven flat cord, without any proper fastening holes, you have to stick the prong of the buckle through the fabric, if you know what I mean, and its such a pain, difficult to push through, it's either too tight or not tight enough and I worry about them slipping out. There are two buckles on the dratted things, one round the neck another round the body behind the shoulders.

When I get the harnesses out they get all excited and can't stand still while I fasten them, they go all wriggly and impatient, so you can imagine my frustration and theirs - when it takes ages. It sometimes puts me off taking them out - I just can't be bothered to go through the whole harnessing exercise when they usually only want to be out for about 15 mins anyway.

Can anyone recommend a harness with an easier/better/more secure method of fastening, please?
