Homeopathic worming

Hi,

Has anyone got any experience of using homeopathic worming options?

I'm considering using one from Crossgates Bioenergetics.

Thanks!

Re: Homeopathic worming

one warning - if you wish to use homeopathic worming/flea treatments on pets - check for Garlic/Onion/*any* bulb vegetable/herb in the ingredients - they are toxic to cats and can cause severe health problems very quickly

I don't believe in all this homeopathy nonsense. The young cat that I've recently had was treated this way and was full of fleas and probably worms too as she's quite small and thin. I've used Frontline combo and Milbemax on her so hopefully she'll come more healthy looking soon.

Re: Homeopathic worming

I would rather not worm my cats regularly and would have their poop tested at the vets if I thought they had worms but mine are completely indoor cats and not fed raw so I don't tend to worm them as I believe them to be worm free, but if I had a dog or they went outside then I would worm them with the proper stuff and not something homeopathic.

I don't think any homeopathic remedies would contain more than vanishingly tiny quantites of anything - it's all about diluting supposedly active ingredients until it's impossible to know whether there is any left.

I'm probably going to p*ss off a few people with this, but homeopathy relies entirely on the placebo effect - i.e., if you believe strongly enough that it will work, then it will - the actual pills themselves are just made of sugar. You can't get a cat to believe in the effectiveness of a treatment, but that's the only way homeopathy will work. Save your cash and get a proper treatment..!

Homeopathy is a great big giant con. It's almost guaranteed that there will be NOTHING left of the active ingredient left in the 'treatment'

Honestly, you might as well give them tap-water and call it magic de-worming liquid. It will have the same affect.

Ignore for a second, the fact that there will be no active ingredient left ... consider this. The active ingredient in Homeopathic SLEEPING tablets is CAFFEINE. Because homeopathy teaches that what causes a symptom can also treat it.

I have absolutely no knowledge or experience of pet homeopathic remedies, I am basing my opinion on my knowledge of Human Homeopathic remedies, which are a joke.

Re: Homeopathic worming

I think if humans want to go and use homeopathy its their own choice and they can weigh up the pros and cons and risks themselves but for cats who are not given a choice I would rather just give them something which has been scientifically proven to work rather than something which is potentially going to let them come to harm.

(for the record, I think homeopathy is nonsense too... sorry if I am stepping on anyones toes...)
