vets would be the thing to do. My cat had a stroke/heart attack, she also wasn't fond of the carrier, just put her/his favorite blanket in and talk soothingly the whole time the cat is in there. My old gal purred never ever made a whimper or growl and she was paralised from in front of the hips back. Maybe keep her/him inside from now on or section part of the yard with a cover so no other animals can get in. Just a thought....
