Its here!

It took 1 hour to build...caused me and the OH to nearly strangle each other (I build it while he sat there pretending to know how to read the building guide) but its finally built.

Only issue is the seating area on the right hand side...well.......our cats are to fat to sit in it (apart from Martha) Todd tried to sit in it and it bent right over.

Think I may double enforce it with some wood.

Re: Its here!

that looks quite good, but as you say, it need strengthening

maybe a piece of wood covered in sisal rope in this position would help

Re: Its here!

Its the actual basket that's tipping so I am thinking about attaching a wooden "Table" type structure to support it.

Re: Its here!

Could you not swivel the hammock around so that it's against that back bit? Even if it doesn't lean against it it should be more stable than sticking out the other side.

Sadie SU will become famous soon enough
Re: Its here!

Maybe you could swivel the 'nest' round through 180 degrees, so it lies closer to the centre of gravity of the whole tree? I don't think just shoring it up is going to work, unless you go the whole hog and add another leg to the ground on the outside edge of the nest.....
