Robust Cat Tree

I've got two 15 month old Ocicats (4.5kg and 5.5kg) and they have had gone through three cat trees (2 x Atlas and 1 Walpurgis Night) in less than a year. I've been ordering them from zooplus and after a few months one of the 'hut's (or whatever the wooden box like hideyholes are called) will collapse and then it sags. The boys think this is even more fun and like nothing more than being at the top and making it sway to and fro
I have to stop them as there is a danger that they will topple it and I don't want them getting hurt. Even when it's not broken they spend a lot of time seeing how fast they can run up it, flinging themselves around it, supermanning off the sides etc and basically throwing 10kgs at it all the time.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of something similar that is a bit more robust? I've looked at Tigga Towers (it's a maybe because its so £££) and another brand (can't remember the name) that was a giant pole. My boys would prefer the Tigga towers as they love hammocks but I'm finding it so hard to convince my husband. I guess I could always cobble together something more sturdy but it would be nice to have something that I know others have found successful.

Re: Robust Cat Tree

I can recommend Kalven my wegies are pretty hefty and they have several kalven trees which have withstood a battering without any real damage and are very sturdy. I suspect the pole you are thinking of is the hicat. I did think about one of those but didn't think the wegies would be able to climb inside.

they also have a zooplus one and they make that one rock! I worry that one day it will topple over

Re: Robust Cat Tree

Hicat - yep that's the one.
Mine would prefer something where they can hang off platforms so I'll check out the Kalven range. Cheers IndysMamma and Cazzer
