That will help and using a RCD trip fixed to the plug.
Can you not pull the curtains partly too on the sunny side of your house to reduce the sunlight?

I've got blinds the little buggers ripped the curtains down.

I've got the blinds lowered and got a huge car sunshade on one of the windows too that is off the glass roofed extension.

It's a little terrace though and it's just boiling. I spend all day that I'm at home in teeny shorts and vests so really feel for my poor cats. Can't be nice if you are furry.
