Not sure what a slicker brush or a Furminator is, but this is what I use.
It take`s the under coat really good.

Furminator is great but be prepared - the amount of hair is terrifying

The rubber brush - zoom groom... I stopped using it as i think (and may be wrong!) that it also takes off the top layer not just the under coat. I can tell by the colour (my dark girl has a bright white under coat ) and i blame it for my boys stripes going missing when i got a bit overzealous! (his shoulders had almost no top coat bad bad slave! )

I use a slicker brush (after reqs from the forum) they both LOVE it and i use it every day but for a very quick once over
Yeh thats my worry with these stripper kind of brushes, hes got a loverly coat and dont want to ruin it.
I currently use one of those slicker brushes and it gets a lot of fur off each time but even 10 mins after using it he will still shed.

Re: Cat fur

Just copied this from the VetUK website. I knew you couldn't use it on very short haired cats - we don't use it on the burmese, only our moggy.

FURminator treatments are NOT recommended for the following breeds of cat: Balinese Bombay, Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, European Burmese, Havana Brown, Javanese, Korat, LaPerm, Oriental, Ragamuffin, Singapura (Depends on coat), Sphynx, Tiffany-Chantilly, Turkish Angora, Turkish Van, York Chocolate.
