I did something really naughty (but i think it was good lol) on saturday

One of my cats had decided that he didnt want to come home. So i was outside the front at midnight calling him. I herd what sounded like really laboured breathing coming from under my car. Of course i thought the worse, that tom had been hit by a car or something. So got on my hands and knees and went under the car. It wasnt tom but a stray that had been lurking around for a couple of months (confirmed stray by all the neighbours) I had never got close to him before as he isnt interested in people, just queens. Well saturday night he decided he wanted a cuddle. He came over and started rubbing his head on my hand. i got out from under the car and he followed. Looking at him in the light i was so upset. He had green discharge coming out of his eyes and nose. So i did the most instinctive thing, picked him up and took him in the house. I put him in the bathroom, got the large dog crate out that i keep for when feral cats need socialising. I set it up and kept him over night in the bathroom (couldnt risk any of mine catching what he had, especially little ford at only 5 weeks old) Woke the OH up to tell him, i think i started the converstion with 'you are going to shout at me and be really angry but....' he was slighty angry but when he saw him he agreed i did the right thing. As it was sunday the next day most vets were closed and i couldnt get hold of my vet as he was on another call. So i named the cat paul and took him to the cats protection. I rang them first and they informed me that my vet was there on a call (we use the same vet) so to bring him straight in and that they will have an iso pen ready for him. Got a call from them today, he has flu but is responding well to his meds. As soon as he is healthy enough they will netuer and rehome him. Im just happy i managed to get 1 more stray of the street. My next target is a white tom, im determined to get him

well done, one less cat to mate those un-neutered girls, can you imagine people let their girls out to mate with him with cat flu

so glad his doing well, bet he knew you were saving him!

Its not just the flu that scares me. I wasnt going to post this thread until his blood results came back. He has been tested for lukemia and F.I.V. If he is positive all i can think is all the cats and kittens that are at risk of having these diseases.

poor poor boy they will only let him go to a indoor home now, make sure that you throughly clean the area that he was in & that yuou touched after touching him, and use anti bac on your hands due to your boy, I advise this, I think its brill:

Johnson's Clean and Safe Disinfectant for Cats Trigger Spray 500ml | Pets at Home

and people think that its fine to let their cats out to mate any old thing, just goes to show you doesnt it, lets hope some people read this & neuter their kittens before any 'accidental escapes'

probably caught it from fighting and people no vacing their cats

Have scrubbed the crate and bathroom down with virkon. We use it at cats protection for cleaning pens as its animal friendly. It comes in pink granules and is a bugger if it gets in your eye lol. I am really hoping he is negative, i want him to live out his life in comfort with the perfect 'slave' happy and healthy.

The amount of people that dont relise how many kittens un-netured cats can have. 1-8 kittens per litter and 2-4 litters a year. That means that a single pair of cats and their kittens can produce 420,000 kittens in 7 years
