Re: Horrible experience yesterday

I successfully took an 8 year old feral and made her indoor only after threats by neighbours - she's settled brilliantly into the house now and even better I know she's safe.

Londoncat is on a distinguished road
Re: Horrible experience yesterday

Thanks Indysmama, will show that to the OH and think about it. Thing is that the fences are only about 2-3ft high, so we'd need to speak to upstairs and get them to agree etc. Anyway, definitely something to think about.

Are you home a lot of the time Indysmama? I'd be very happy having her indoors if one of us was home a lot, as she seems quite happy when we're here. I just worry about her getting bored and destructive when we're out at work..

Re: Horrible experience yesterday

Sorry to hear this. If the neighbours threaten to or injure your cat then this is an offence and a police matter. I'd certainly keep her in for a few days until as you say things have blown over a bit.

To be honest though with neighbours like this I'd consider moving! Or at the least I'd be fervently hoping they would!

Re: Horrible experience yesterday

the fences need to be 6ft high plus for those enclosed systems, Ithink they can do add on attachements.

my friend who has 2 cats from me recently got a quote as they are now moving to a house with a garden, she was shocked at the price quoted, over 3thousand

I could build it myself for a few hundred!

Pheebs will become famous soon enough
Re: Horrible experience yesterday

Londoncat, would it be worth having a friendly chat with the neighbours, explain you understand how upset they are about the baby bird, but that their threat is also upsetting to you? As you say, they may have made the threat in the heat of the moment.

If they're still hostile and you do think they're a threat to your cat, I would consider the suggestions other people have made.

Re: Horrible experience yesterday

I go out to college most days but other than that I am home a fair bit - I have 4 cats though so Mabel only pays me any attention at bedtime and first thing in morning when she wants her cuddles - other than that I may as well be scotch mist!
