My cat was hit by a car today.

I am so upset right now, my poor boy was ran over and killed today.

I got a knock on the door telling me, ran outside to the car park right outside my house and there he was He was already dead but still warm, he was in such a mess though.

I can't understand it, he is an ex-feral and really streetwise, he wouldn't go near a car! A witness thinks it was deliberate, she explained that a taxi pulled into a car parking space and Olle was asleep behind the taxi, he started reversing and Olle didn't move so he just sped over him.

I keep saying that maybe he ddin't see him but how could someone do this, not even stop either.

I can't understand why Olle didn't move, when I found him he was in a curled up sleeping position but his eyes were open. The place where he was hit he would have seen / heard the car coming and seeing as it is a tiny car park the taxi should not have been going more than 5mph, is that fast enougn to kill a cat?

I don't know why I am asking questions over and over again, there is nothing that can be done I suppose I just need to know. Why did this happen to my poor baby

I have rang the taxi company and screemed at them, the driver denied it and said he did not hit the cat, he was seen however so clearly lying.

I dropped my poor boy off at the vets to be cremated

It is just over 2 weeks since we lost Zena our old Rottie girl and not sure I can cope anymore.

It bloody hurts!

RIP Olle, you didn't deserve to die like you did. Only 4 years old but forever young now. Run free xxx

Re: My cat was hit by a car today.

aw no, im so sorry RIP Olle.

what you're asking about the speed of the car i guess if it ran over Olle completely, any speed is enough to kill him, its not like he's just been hit, bless him

im sorry

(((hugs))) to you

im so sorry for you loss, i know it doesnt make it any better but my neighbours cat was killed the same way. he had curled up to sleep behind somebodies car wheel, they didnt realise he was there and reversed right over him. it was very quick though as im sure it was for your boy. at least he wouldnt have suffered at all.
Im so sorry though, RIP Olle xxxx

Re: My cat was hit by a car today.

Oh gosh, what an awful thing to happen. I am so, so sorry.

I don't know really how fast a car would have to be going to run over a cat but if he was dozing his responses might've been a bit slower than usual. Poor little guy.

R.I.P lovely Olle.

Huge hugs for you. I can't imagine how awful it must have been to see him like that.

Re: My cat was hit by a car today.

I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot pretend to know how you are feeling. When an animal is ill then you expect these things but so young and full of life it is tragic. The pain will depart in time and I hope you will be able to remember all the good times you shared with Olle.
R.I.P Olle

Re: My cat was hit by a car today.

I'm truly sorry for your loss Sadly we get many people on here who lose the cats to car accidents, and it makes me feel less guilty for strictly letting my boys out on harnesses only. These things seem to happen more and more often nowadays. I'm sure your boy went quickly and that he is now happily bouncing away up at rainbow bridge.

Run free Olle! xxx
