lost kitten is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone.

New here.

Hope that everyone is doing great this evening....And hope that my spelling don`t put anyone off.

I took alook around and didnt see what I needed, so will ask and hope someone can help.

I found a kitten today, probably bumped by some souless person... Anyway`s it`s not old, How old am not sure, maybe 4-6 week`s. It`s so small.

It`s long hair and had hard poo matted in it`s fur.. Cleaned it up, ran to store buy can and dry cat food. Give the kitten both... It licked the can food no eat. I forgot the cat milk, and store`s are closed, can`t get entill Monday.

Made a bed on the warm bathroom floor, and it`s sleeping right now..
Now what do I do. ???

Poor poor baby.

Thank you for any help.

Re: Hello everyone.

If it's 4 weeks old will it even be on solids? If I was you I'd ring a vet or any of cats protection/RSPCA/PDSA for advice.

I'm not good on kittens but hopefully one of the breeders will be around for proper advice soon.

Re: Hello everyone.

first of all well done for looking after the baby! and welcome

ring round the charities to ask for help - see what they can do?

then, mush up the food with some warm boiled water so it's a warm gruel that baby can lap up.

keep her warm and dry and get her to a vet for a health check as soon as you can.

Re: Hello everyone.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I have talked to the vet, he asked if it had all it`s teeth. ( yes it dose )
Then asked if had running eye`s, if it had problem`s breathing ect. ( no look`s sound`s fine, but for the hard matted poo )
So asked if I could bring it in tomorrow. ( of corse )
That I was to try and get can food into it.

So now need to wait.

Just unsure where to go from here while I wait to visit the vet.

Re: Hello everyone.

Do you have some kitchen scales that you can weigh the kitten on, it can help give an indication of how it is.

I'm not really an expert but it might help.

Re: Hello everyone.

depending on the age it may have problems toiletting on it's own... if you get some warm, wet cotton wool and gently wash its bum (over a thick towel) it may stimulate it to go.

hopefully someone with more experience with tiny kittens will be here soon
