It was with my OH. I used to have a cat and a dog. When the dog died we got another cat, as he pined so much. It took a long time for them to get on, but had just started to play together when we lost the older cat.
We now have a dog and a cat and they try to play together but obviously play in different ways. They are both very playful and I said to del (my oh) that I would love to get another cat and dog at some point as I love seeing them play and feel they are happier with company.
He said cats prefer their own company (which I agree with to a certain extent) but you just have to look at some of the pics on here to see them cuddled up together and playing. He also said that most people only have 1 of each and i disagreed.
For the most of the time the cat is just in another room, and has a short amount of play with us (she will bop a toy a few times then just give up lol)
When on walks and the dog sees another dog he gets so excited and wants to play. he seems to come alive when he does. Now puppy classes have ended he doesnt have much interaction with other dogs
Basically, I wonder if the cat and dog are happy beinf lone?
