Re: How many times a day do you feed your Cat?
I feed my 7 in the morning with a carton and a half of Bozita and probably a third of a tin of Grau between them. They also have origen biscuits down all the time. When I get home from work they have the same amount again but is probably more Grau than Bozita. Sometimes by the time i go to bed their bowls empty so they probably get half a carton of Bozita or a tray of Lilys kitchen between them then.

Re: How many times a day do you feed your Cat?
mmm I feed Jake a mix of renal and senior cat food in the morning, about 1/4 of each pouch then I put out about 30gr of iams senior in the morning. He eats all the meat and some of the iams then sometimes snacks on the iams during the day and evening but doesnt seem to want to eat again. I top up the Iams with another 20-30grams before I go to bed and it's all gone by the morning.
I've only had Jake a week and therefore his eating pattern is just getting established and with the stress of the move he may not be eating as much as he should but now I'm worried that he's not eating enough Should I put down more food? or feed him more in the morning when he seems to be interested?Jake is 17yrs so is on a renal mix diet. He drinks 1 to 1 1/2 bowls of water a day. Any advice welcome. Katrina |

Re: How many times a day do you feed your Cat?
Just wanted to clarify that I don't feed all of those three things every day lol, I mix and match. So Monday might be 200g of grau wet, tuesday might be 188g of purely wet, wednesday 40-50g of applaws dry.
When i re-read my post, it made it sound like i fed all three over the course of one day.

Re: How many times a day do you feed your Cat?
We're feeding a young adult cat (Sophie) and a kitten that's about 16 weeks old (Popeye).
6.30am Popeye comes out of his overnight cage, and Sophie cleans up whatever he's left of his overnight rations. 7.30am Popeye and Sophie get shut into Cat Central for the day, with a pouch of food between them and an ad-lib bowl of kibble/fresh water. 7.30pm They get a pouch of food between them, and still have access to the kibble. About Midnight - Popeye goes to bed in his overnight cage, with a pouch of kitten food all to himself. Sophie has access to the kibble all night. So, if Popeye eats up his overnight rations, then he gets two pouches a day and Sophie gets one pouch a day...... and they both have as much kibble as they want on top of that. Sophie's doing a bit too well on this regime, but I reckon it's worth her gaining a bit of unwelcome weight if it means the kitten gets stuffed to capacity. I'll reduce the kibble rations once Popeye has done his major growing. |

Re: How many times a day do you feed your Cat?
rather than look at the amount of times you should be feeding according to the packet, you need to look at the meat (and ash) content of the food. The more ash (and less meat) the more you will need to feed them. A lot of the supermarket foods are like this (you need to feed more often, therefore you buy more). If you go for a food that has a higher meat content (such as Nature's menu) although it seems more expensive, you feed them less of it as it fills them up.
We have 3 cats - 11 yrs old, 10 yrs old and 2 yrs old. During the summer they are out in the day, in the house at night. They get fed 2 packets of natures menu between the 3 of them in the morning, plus they have some royal canin down. The dry gets left during the day and night, and they graze. They have a small bowl of that each and that is plenty for them. Somedays they may be hungrier than others, at which point they get more dry. But its the meat content of the food you need to look at. ![]() |

Re: How many times a day do you feed your Cat?
I feed mine once when she wakes me up at dawn, she then has biscuits down all day (which she rarely eats more than a mouthful of) plus a few hidden treats. I then feed her again when I get home about 6pm then a half feed before bed about 10.30pm.
