Cat Wormer...

Hi all, hope you are all doing well and your fur babies too.

I took my little Tia to the vet today to enquire about getting a microchip...she is now booked in. Whilst there they asked me when I last wormed her (just conversation) and I said that she is due for it now. So, they offered to worm her whilst we were there, seemed too tempting an offer so agreed. Now she has the runs!!! she was fine this morning! She disgraced herself on the way home and has had 3 lots of it since....HELP!! Why do you think this has happened?...does it mean she had worms?? Any advice would be great right now. Thanks you guys. x

perfectly normal no need to worry. many pets get the runs after a worming. it usually means the wormer is doing it's job and getting rid of the worms it should subside with in 48 hrs. If it doesn't then give the vets a ring. Just keep her on her normal food and water and it should pass.

Ahh, rt, ok, never used that one on my cats. Just wondered cause on the odd occasion mine have had Drontal, they've had the runs afterwards. I like to use panacur paste, it's kinder on their tums

Re: Cat Wormer...

Selk, have to be honest, I usually would use Panacur Paste (buy it online), but as we were at the vets, it seemed like a good idea at the time....but I am regretting it now. Will take the advice of the earlier poster and keep her on normal food and water and sit out for 48 hours, if its gets worse will call vet though. Thanks for all your help guys...you are a good bunch!

it's kinder on their tums because it doesn't cover all the parasites that Milbemax and Drontal do.
