Oh dear cats you're really in the dog house

Over the past couple of days we've kept the cats out of the lounge as Kaisa keeps on jumping onto our flat screen TV to get to the shelves behind. We've been worried that she would either scratch the screen or knock it over. Tonight I thought I'd let them back in to see if she carried on. Well of course she did. She knocked down an arrangement of silk flowers off the shelf. In the process of putting it back OH noticed the power cables for a computer and the blu-ray someone has had a good chew of them both. One of the cable was completly chewed through . OH is not happy and is currently very . I suspect one cat may have used up one of its 9 lives! OH will be buying some more cable protectors {most of the cable was covered with them but we ran out}.

What's the worst one of your darlings has done?

Re: Oh dear cats you're really in the dog house

Hah they really don't appreciate the value of things do they?

Thankfully our Cookie hasn't actually broken anything (yet), but she does tend to knock EVERYTHING off any table or desk or shelf that she decides to explore ... then she looks at the thing she's just knocked off as if to say "what are you doing down there?"

She did this the other morning at about 4am in our bedroom. Heard a bang as she knocked something on the floor .... slight pause ... BANG ... next thing goes down .... BANG .... 3rd thing on the floor

Rex managed to jump up the wall in the middle of the night and pull a picture frame down, thankfully the glass was intact but the frame had had it!!!

Re: Oh dear cats you're really in the dog house

Mr B knocked over my valentine's day flowers...smashed the vase...and destroyed my shredder since the water and bits of glass ran into it

Normally if he's up somewhere he shouldn't be and hears me coming, you hear a thump as he jumps down...this time, he stayed frozen where he was and looked at me with a "I've done something really naughty this time, haven't I Mummy?" look on his face

Re: Oh dear cats you're really in the dog house

Mine chew through headphone wires if you leave them out even for a second. I have gone through one a month since I got the cats. I keep spare cheap sets now

At Xmas my brother got me some really nice proper headphones...noise reducing etc...they lasted 2 months...sigh

They also love my boyfriends shoes when they were smaller they would climb inside them and now just sit on top of them and dribble or chew them...his nice shoes now get immediately hidden in a cupboard when he visits

Re: Oh dear cats you're really in the dog house

Meeko hasnt actually destroyed too much in his time on this earth, not for want of trying I can assure you.It is just that having lived with a house full of dogs for years I can spot the dangers before they happen .I have a Welsh Dresser with very little on it.Work surfaces have never been tidier, window sills are ornament free,Infact the house looks like it has been burgled,Everything is in drawers waiting for the day he "grows up".God I hope the drawers dont weld themselves closed while we wait

Mai Tai broke an antique, stained glass fire guard when she was younger we took it to a restorer but it was beyond help She's smashed a couple of table lamps too
I'm not tempting fate by mentioning Roise
buffie and Emma-Jayne like this.

Re: Oh dear cats you're really in the dog house

Molly hasn't actually broken anything YET, mainly because I've had to move most thing's out of reach .... god knows what I will do when she finally works out how to get on the kitchen units!!

I do however have DVD's, books, table placemats, shoes ... all chewed round the edges!

I'm not even going to go there.... Storm weighs 6.5 kilos and has the knack of hurtling himself around the flat at break-neck speeds. The amount of crap that ends up lying everywhere in the flat drives me mad
