Re: Can anyone help me I'm desperate...

Hi Flossie,

Delighted to hear that your babies have settled so well, that must be a great relief for you. Thank you for the update.

When you get your flat next week, I'd suggest leaving the cats where they are for the time being and you can suss out the 'lie of the land' regarding your flat. Is there a time limit on how long Barbara can look after them? If not, I'd be inclined to say let them stay there for as long as you are able or until Barbara stops being so 'friendly'....

Hopefully, you won't be in the flat for too long but, councils being what they are, if your stay there extends beyond the period of time first advised, then you can reconsider your options.

Re: Can anyone help me I'm desperate...

Hi all,

Just a quick update. My daughter and I are now settled into the temporary flat (boxes everywhere still but we're getting there slowly but surely!). I'm off to Barbara's today to visit my fur babies can't wait, so excited to have cuddles again. I spoke to Barbara on Saturday and apparently they all refused to eat their tins for 2 days so she gave them posh pouches and tuna and what d'ya know - they all ate it! They're not stupid hold out for the good stuff lol Apparently Saturday was the first day that Floss came out of her basket, bless her she is very sensitive and has spent the last 14 years sleeping in my arm and in my bed so it must be very strange and unsettling for her. It's going to be so hard to leave them again but this place is Housing Association and they are very definitely NO PETS although we have just found out that the young girl in the flat next to us has a cat!!! As MoggyBaby suggested I'm going to see how things go and how long we are likely to be here and then go from there, especially if they are now settled and happy at Barbara's for a while (guess it shopping for tuna on the way then!!)

Take care all and I'll let you know how they all are later.
xxx

Thanks for the update Flossiecat and it's good to hear that your babies are settling again after the disruption.

Fingers crossed for you that you get your final home soon so that you can all be together again.

Re: Can anyone help me I'm desperate...

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone's well. Just wanted to let you all know that I am now re-united with my babies :-D I picked them up from Barbara this morning. They've been well looked after but they ended up having to share the room with another cat and although Scampi was happy to have a playmate, the old girls were a bit traumatised bless. I have spoken to a lot of people here at the flat's most of them have lived here for at least 6 months - 1 year so I don't think it's going to be as temporary as we hoped! The girl next door has 2 kittens and a rabbit, the people here before us had a dog and there is a dog in one of the other flats, and that's just the ones we know about! So I made the excellent decision to have my babies home with us! They were so happy to see us and have settled in really well. Floss is chilling on her platform, Candy is sleeping on the hall rug and Scampi is being his usual mental self and diving on anythng and everything (whethere it moves or not!).

Just wanted to let you all know that there was a very happy ending to this situation, and the flat now actually feels like home, all it needed was a layer of cat fur over everything haha.

Take care xx
