It's an absolute joke. The safety conditions of the factories in third world counties where they are made are scandalous also. |

Re: Fireworks and Frightened Cats
This is a very good point actually - my moggies have always stayed indoors anyway so not a problem and obviously Mika and Scarlett are indoors too.
We have 3 coonies in separate runs to one another outside and my problem is what do I do with them?? Oscar is very mature and Jazzie is in call so can't have them in the same room as one another. I'm not sure whether I have enough spare rooms in the house to put them in! Perhaps I can buy them kitty ear plugs??!! I guess if it is just during the night, I can somehow split them up but it's certainly going to be a challenge especially as our neighbours buy the display fireworks and let them off literally all night long...last year we had a small set in the garden for our kids and we couldn't enjoy them because next door's were so loud!! I hate November! |

Re: Fireworks and Frightened Cats
Fireworks start around September here and go right through to New Years Eve and New Years Eve is more intense with fireworks than Bonfire night.
whats that all about.I don't know how people can afford to constantly buy them. Possibly showing my age now ![]() Sue |

One of my neighbours was setting fireworks off yesterday afternoon.
My poor kitty didn't seem too happy about it, so God knows what she's going to be like nearer November when they get more regular? The weird thing is, the neighbour that was setting them off actually has cats of her own, so you'd think she'd have a bit more respect. ![]() |

Re: Fireworks and Frightened Cats
I personally hate fireworks and think they should be banned from sale to the general public. I can never understand that it is illeagal to carry a knife in public but OK to be in possession of a load of gunpowder. Have you seen the size of some of the modern fireworks, they are like mini bombs.
Mary Again totally agree with the above, and not only that but a lot of them don't seem to me to be for fun but more to terrorize and have a sick laugh at other peeps and pets expense and god help any poor waifs/strays ![]() |

Re: Fireworks and Frightened Cats
i THINK FIRE WORKS ARE A NUISANCE AND A NIGHTMARE FOR PET OWNERS THEY SHOULD BAN THEM BUT THATS MY PERSONNEL THOUGHTS. IM SURE KIDS WOULDNT AGREE MIND THEY DONT SEE THE DANGER DO THEY. ITS TO EASY FOR TEENS TO GET HOLD OF THEM AND PEOPLE EVEN WHEN OF OLDER AGE DONT THINK ABOUT THE DANGERS ALL THEY THINK ABOUT IT THERE DISPLAYS. I AM SO ANTI FIREWORKS AS WAS CAUGHT ON FIRE BY A STRAY FIREWORK FROM A DISPLAY THAT WAS ORGANISED LUCKY MY NEIGHBOUR WAS AROUND ALL I KNEW WAS I WAS BEING ROLLED AROUND ON THE GRASS. LUCKY I DIDNT GET HURT.

I'm fuming with hubby, he has bought a box of display fireworks allegedly for our grandson. He knows how one of our cats reacts, how can we let fireworks off in the back garden. He said I can't let them off in the garden - it has to be done in the field at the back of our house. so what's the point, can you imagine look Jack yours is the third firework to the left of the moon. They were a complete waste of money, I'm going to be at my wits end making sure the cats and dog are safe indoors while trying to entertain too. I'm going to need eyes up my back side. mad:Sue Last edited by sskmick; 17-10-2008 at 08:59 PM.. |
