Talking Does anybody else's cat play with hair bobbles?

Jessica (a siamese) loves hair bobbles. You only have to say the word bobble and she comes running and howling! She likes you to throw it and then she fetches it and brings it back to you. She opens her bobble draw herself and gets them out and screams until you play with her. She brings them to bed with her and likes to drop them in the dogs water dish, your cup of tea, down the toilet, in your shoes and her own food bowl!

The whole obsession started when she was only a kitten. I had a bobble in a Christmas cracker and she happened to find it and since then she's been bonkers for them. We even buy them especially for her as she tries to steal mine otherwise! She even tries to get them out my hair and I cannot leave one on the side otherwise it will be gone!

So has anyone else experienced this?!

Yes Hudson has a habit of pinching them and hiding them so he can play with them later lol. Then he walks around the house with it in his mouth as if he is completely innocent.

Re: Does anybody else's cat play with hair bobbles?

One of our Studs Gismo(Siamese) loves them, when he was a Kitten my Wife used to play fetch with him, with her hair bobbles.

Now he is an Adult he has a fetish for them, he will take them out of her hair, he will sneak them from the dressing table and hide them in his bed.

He still will play fetch but as soon as he has had enough he will run off with the bobble and hide it in his bed

Re: Does anybody else's cat play with hair bobbles?

Mine wrestles for it with me every morning when I need one for work. He will play fetch with it (but he's convinced he has to kill it first), but he won't let me leave him without one. I give him one, he promptly loses it and pinches another one of mine. Last time we moved the couches around, we found six!

Now he tend to climbs up the bathroom sink or my vanity table to find any that I've left nearby and runs off with them.

Re: Does anybody else's cat play with hair bobbles?

My youngest (Oriental) adores hair bobbles. His favourite ones are from Sainsburys basics range. He likes me to put the bobble over his front paw, half way up his leg, so he can then wrestle it off and run around the house growling, with the bobble in his mouth. My other two cats look at him as if he's crazy when he does this.

Re: Does anybody else's cat play with hair bobbles?

Loki (my half burmese) goes beyond bananas for them but he eats them so they have to be securely hidden as I hate to think what they'd do to his innards if he ate one whole.

Indy (suspected half siamese) loves for you to ping them so he can fetch them but have had to stop since getting Loki

Re: Does anybody else's cat play with hair bobbles?

One of my Siamese - several years ago when my daughter was still living at home - used to steal her hair bobbles. She also liked my daughter's watch and would steal that too
I used to have to hide rubber bands from Mai Tai when she was a kitten after I found her choking on one She isn't bothered about them now though, thank goodness.
