Re: pro plan for house cats/indoor cats

ah but Orijen's carbohydrate is from potatoes
still not good for cats but possibly less likely to provoke allergies than corn or wheat.
I came across Grau dried food on zooplus.co.uk and it apparently has only meat (lamb) and rice. I've ordered some to try, just as an occasional treat for my cats.

I agree re. the RC - i fed it for years and have only recently realised just what horrible things it contains

Orijen is the best dry food in my opinion, 70% meat, 30% fruit and veg, no grains/cereals.

Re: pro plan for house cats/indoor cats

Both Orijen and Timberwolf still have a very high (30% or more) level of carbohydrates and they both have all this silly fruit and veg - totally unneccessary for cats, only included to appeal to owners

If you go fully raw you need to be sure that all the minerals, vitamens etc are actually available to them.

I would like to go raw but know I don't have the time or patience at the moment to do it.

I'd rather see carbs come from potatoes than any grains; yes carbs, fruit and veg is a gimmick, cats don't need them but I'm not sure you could actually make dry food without including ingredients other than meat, it's got to have something to "glue" it together!?!

I still think Orijen is the best, although I don't feed any commercial foods myself, I was feeding Orijen alongside raw before we made the big switch and is the only dry food I would feed if we have had to go back to commercial foods.

That said I don't feed commercial foods anymore, I feed raw meat and bones.
i was told by my vet to buy pro plan and ive just bought a big 15kg sack i was so pleased as it cost me £40 no by what your saying im no so sure and i would like to say orijen is £40 per 7kg!! so i dont see how that can last as long
