I used to think like you till some delightful person started poisoning cats nearby, they are all now indoor cats and after about a month of them trying to get out they are now settled and happy, it can be done and my four were all hunters and had been outdoor cats all their lives.

Re: Going down under with or without cats?

When my OH's grandad passed away in australia they had a long debate as his mum really wanted to bring his 2 beloved cats to the uk. They were pretty old but she thought the upheaval would be less than giving them to a shelter where they might never get taken as they were so old...in the end a neighbour took them in so all ended well.

But everyone said you shouldn't take them to the uk...what about the weather and busy roads and evil cat hating kids (apparently in aus all the kids are angels )! So I guess a lot is about perspective I am sure if you do the research you can find ways to help them adjust
