Re: It's that time of year

I'm kinda with you both PCN and AJ,it's other peeps bratz, and even if the community takes time and effort to organise something,it's not enough, but given that the same probs and then some arise each year, you'd think that the authorities would be keeping a close eye on the surrounding shops,as opposed to the usual of waiting for something atrocious to happen and then not being able to dish out appropriate justice for various reasons, also these kids have to get the money from somewhere and suppose it helps when parents take responsibility and action to prevent or at least try,we have 2 human boys an 8 yr old who is a text book 8 yr old lads lad so to speak, and a 14 yr old who is quite reserved and though neither are pillars of our community..yetThey really do have more sense and fear than to mess around with fireworks, think sometimes it really does come a lot from the parents as half the time the parents are with them saying "Oh,all kids do it",or "they'll do it anyway i might as well be here",until sadly it's their child in agonyCoupled with the ever present alcohol of course

I wouldn't care less if they banned them completely but they should at least restrict them to organised events and certainly not sell them over the counter!

Re: It's that time of year

I remember when bonfire night was just that!, not the 2 months surrounding 5th nov. I can't imagine how traumatized some poor pets will be
My old collie used to luv fireworks and always sat outside to watch til one landed on him. They weren't so much fun after that....hehe

Re: It's that time of year

I thought about the fun we had as kids with fireworks that's a joke everyone firework was the same as the next a banger was a piff, a Catherine wheel never went round always got stuck, a jumping cracker fell over.

Now they are more powerful - why?

I agree fireworks should be banned. Why celebrate a threat of treason anyway

Sue

Re: It's that time of year

Well we have 99 per cent of people who answered who want them banned. I'm guessing this will be typical with most pet owners. How many pet owners in Britain? Millions... How about we start a petition to ban.......GOVERNMENT MAKES MILLIONS OUT OF FIREWORKS AND SO WE'RE STUFFED!!! Cos that's all they care about.
