My vets is lovely and the great thing is they don't have receptionists

Taz is my daughters kitten and when we take him for check ups, injections, etc the vet always explains to her what he is going to do to Taz beforehand and why.
As a first time cat owner I had afew worries over the 1st few months and they were great with me, esp the nurses who gave me loads of advice without me feeling i was being daft! He's in next week for neutering and I know he'll be well looked after

Personally I'd go in and visit, speak to the staff, or maybe try ringing again, I work in a school and some of the most fantastic teachers are terrible when it comes to phone manners.

I don't think I could trust anyone who was rude and nasty on the phone. I have to say my vets are not just good they are FANTASTIC. They know me and my pets very well. If I am away for business or holiday. (I have a house sitter) They will see my pets immediately and not even send me a bill. They just wait till I see them again. They have also sent me e-mails to let me know how my pets have been whilst I am away. Thankfully as of next month I will be home and looking forward to my babies and learning how to show

Hi, thanks and thanks everyone else for the replys. Unfortunately, I have a sneaking suspicion the person I spoke to was the head honcho vet because it was a man around his 40s and you can see on their website all the people who work there...and there's only one that fits. I think I caught him covering for the lunch break...it was around that time.

Now, in case I get accused of defamation, I'm not saying the vets in question are incompetent, far from it..I'm sure they're not...all I'm saying is that if businesses value making new customers and keeping them, they better know how to treat customers...because I for one, as a customer, demand a minimum of respect. Anyway, how pathetic can a grown man be to laugh at the name "Fluffy" for a cat. What should I call him? Oswald? It's a cat for god's sake... talk about daft.

Anyway...yes, I think I will keep my options open after that...thanks again all.

our vets and many other vets i have worked at do infact answer the phone from time to time. i think it just depends on the type of practice you work for. i work for a family owned practice and it's vet, head nurse, animal assistant/receptionist, bookkeeper/receptionist and me student nurse/receptionist.

Just cancelled appt with the vets. This time got a weird sounding female on the other end...who wasn't paying attention and sounded thoroughly bored...asked me what time I had the appt...twice. Seriously, WHAT A BUNCH OF FRICKING WEIRDOS. lol...I've dealt with some idiots in the past..but I now believe that place beats the lot. If I believed in aliens (which I do) I would imagine that place has been taken over by shape-shifting lizards in human guise.

Other vets has crappy parking but is much cheaper and I'm hoping humans work there.

Hope you have more joy at the other Vets. My Vets have c**p parking, and c**p waiting room and i'm not always 100% happy when I go there. May consider moving.
