I am pleased to say everyone was right, its a breeze, well not quite.

They are fine a bit sore but that's to be expected, they are convalescing in their outdoor pen.

I really have disinfected everywhere including the ramps and shelves of their pen, not much point really but I feel better.

My two can have a light tea, chicken and rice, pasta, poached egg and tomorrow they can go back to their normal diet. They didn't mention fish.

Anyway no kidding I opened their carrier in the kitchen and they made a start on Duke's JWB. I stopped them felt guilty so they have had some dinner. I'll make them something light for tea unless they have no ill effects from dinner.

They have used their litter tray too - ouch!

I have to monitor them for a week the next three days are crucial as their wound can open, and/or complications can happen. I have been given a leaflet but they don't have to go back unless there is a problem.

Forum members seem to like to know the cost, it is interesting the difference in prices around the Country the total bill came to £117.40.

Neutering £34.51 each
Micro-chipping £18.80 (with 10% discount normally £20.00 whatever)
Worming treatment ??? The difference I suppose

Sue

No, I can't complain at the price.

They don't look sore today their wounds look clean and closed, no swelling, blood or discharge.

They are fully back to normal today, I posted a thread under Health and Nutrition Section, as they really are doing well, I thought it would give a bit of comfort to other members having to take their cats/kittens.

I work too, but I decided to take a day's holiday. I'm not sure that was a good idea because they were on my mind all the time, had I have occupied myself I think I would have coped better.

Not forgetting after 3 your little one will be that bit more alert than mine were.

Re: Nil By Mouth for Sooty and Sweep

Sorry Sue not seen this until now, glad everything went okay!

Our two were back to normal within hours of coming home, it was a struggle to keep them in for a few days because they were just as loopy as ever! D

That seems like a really good price for the neutering, we didn't pay for our two as we got vouchers from the RSPCA to have it done free but I would expect it to be a fair bit more than that at our vets.

Did Duke miss them?

Duke missed them like crazy, he wasn't happy when the pet carrier came out and even less happy when I returned without them.

I should have taken pictures yesterday as they snuggled up to him one laid right across his front legs and the other into his belly.

He sniffed their sore bits which made me a bit squeamish and I stopped him but one of the kittens splayed out for him to soothe it, shall we say. I still stopped him.

The price was surprising as it included neutering, micro-chipping and three months dual worming treatment for them - I aren't grumbling.

Glad both Sooty and Sweep were fine. I hate getting my cats neutered, such a worry

I have my Girl booked in on Monday and I am already getting all worked up about it Poor thing. I know she will be fine though.
