Hi all,

Just wondering who everyone insures their cats through, i currently insure them with sainsburys but i have had nothing but hassle over the last few months and the premium has gone up by over 100%

Re: Insurance

I think its a waste of money so don't insure mine - rather save in a cat account for vet bills - that way the money builds up when not used - unlike insurance premiums. Also, if I do need to take a cat to the vet and pay for treatment, I can just pay it without filling in loads of forms and hoping it might be approved by people who get my money every month.

that sounds like a good idea, after all the trouble i am having i might do that. Will have to get someone else like my mum to open it for me otherwise i would end up spending it

Re: Insurance

I insure through petplan who are pretty good. Although, I have just found out that I have an £80 excess on each of my cats....bearing in mind I have 5 cats insured at a cost of about £150 per cat per year, I think I will be better in future doing as suggested previously and saving in a separate account.

I have been unlucky recently and had to make a few claims but I still would have been better off saving my premium money and using that instead!!

You have said the cost of your excess, but not the cost of your insurances, makes it a bit hard to put it into perspective.
