Just thought I would say Hi - even though I am pretty new and no one has probably missed me anyway!!)
As a couple of you may remember, I am having my house renovated and was worried about having to put my girls, Ella and Effie, into a cattery for the duration. In the end, we decided to rent a temporary flat for 12weeks but haven't taken our computer , so I have no internet access during the evenings and normally really busy in work so don't get to come on!
Anyway We moved a week and a half ago. The girls were helping me pack up the house by getting into boxes they weren't supposed to be in and sitting on top of furniture we were trying to move. They were the last things we moved from the house and were wandering around a bit concerned when all the furniture had gone!
Anyway we moved into the new flat, it's on the 10th floor, which is ok as the girls are indoor babes anyway and they love looking out the window. The flat is really small but I am so glad that we moved out of the house and that we could keep Ella and Effie with us.
Ella was a bit shaky at first and moaned a lot, Effie was happy as soon as we sat down after unpacking and food was available. They are fascinated with the view of London and it does seem to be in an area, similar to Hill Street Blues - whenever they hear a siren they run to the window. Ella also calls me to look out of the window when she has something she wants me to check out!
The only downside is we have a king size bed at home and only a double in the flat and Ella and Effie tend to find their way into the bed during the night and take up most of the room (we can't complain as we are guests in THEIR home obviously as the cats rule the roost, whereever the home is)
Ella is a bit of an adventurer and ended up down the back of the fitted wardrobe on day two - she loves getting into places she shouldn't. There was much panic as I had no way of getting her out but in the end managed to throw a sheet down the back and she climbed up and just gave me an indignant look like it was my fault! She also loves the fact that she can sit under the settee and there are lots of tables that she can sit under. Something she doesn't have at home. The much calmer Effie is ok but being a black cat doesn't seem to like the sun that streams therough the windows(luckily british summer time means this doesn't happen often!
They seem far happier than me and I am missing my own home and can't wait to get back to our new look home, when I will start posting again (Heaven help you all!) I feel really home sick!
That's it for now - see you properly in about ten weeks
