2 kittens

I ahve read that 2 kittens would keep each other company etc but does anyone know if it stops them exploring to far when outside?

Re: 2 kittens

My two previous cats explored in different directions they seldom came back together. I had a male and female, I am not sure whether that would make a difference.

My two boys seem quite content to play in their outdoor pen, although I am still keeping an open mind. Whilst my cats safety is paramount so is there happiness - so far so good for us.

Neutering and spaying does help to control the wonder lust as they don't seem to wonder as far as cats that are still in tact.

Re: 2 kittens

If you are going to let them out, it doesnt matter if they are together they will explore any and everywhere, If you have them spayed/nuetered that sometimes stops them going to far a field to look for mates. BTW welcome to the mad house

Re: 2 kittens

I have found females tend to wander less although I have 2 girls and one is always trying to leave the garden and the other is happy to pop in and out.

My Maine Coons are all indoor cats so we don't have that worry!

Re: 2 kittens

I've got five adult cats who go out and whereas the girls only go as far as my garden and the neighbouring ones, the boy can disappear for a couple of days at a time - he was gone for five days once and I was distraught. I didn't think he would wander as he has been neutered but I was clearly wrong.

I think getting two kittens together is much better for them than just getting one. I've always done that and they absolutely love playing together and snuggling up with each other. It is lovely to see

At the moment I've got five 16 week old kittens who are busy chasing each other up the stairs and knocking over my washing. Two are going to their forever home next week (I persuaded their new slave to have two, not one) and I am keeping the other three. I do play with them but it's not the same as the rough and tumble they have together.
