So do you actually take them into the pub or was that all for the tv as well? And do you really have a mating room?

I must admit that the way the programme was made, it did make you look like crazy cat lady!!!

And I am curious about the pub and the mating room too....

However, the most important thing is that you clearly love your animals and they have a loving home.

Your cats are gorgeous, well done, i spotted the little cat bed in the cats room ( looks like a minature bed with leopard print duvet) ive got one too, i get all those mad cat woman digs but i dont care.

I thought the woman with the persian was more of a fruitcake, all that grooming , no wonder the cat was in a bad mood at the show.

They didnt mention either that the lady with the 83 cats was anne de berry (indykatz) the welfare officer for the bengal cat club, thats why she has so many.

Are you serious? I watched the programme and I thought that the way that the programme portrayed the 'Crazy Cat Lady with the 7 sphynx cats' ensured that she got the 'Totally Mad' rosette. The persian show lady was just grooming for a show and I reckoned that the time was 'increased' for 'interest' but I also reckoned that the grooming scenario wasn't too far from the truth.

To immaculate - why that name - would have thought it suited Persian lady better - OK glad to hear that kids come first and yes I do know how the media can manipulate (yes, have experienced it first hand).

You did look mad - and it did make you look how you put your cats first. However surprised that they did not show you programme before it went out. I would not have thought that portrayal did you any favours, IMO.

You just have to take it with a pinch of salt, if they portrayed it how it really is who would want to watch it?

I never saw the TV program, but when I read the article at the begining of this thread it just sounded like me...well, apart from the fact that I have no kids or husband, and I don't bathe my cat; she'd probably scratch my eyeballs out if I tried to do that to her every night. I love the attention we get when I take her out walking on her lead, and I parade her proudly in her buggy wherever I go. I'm always spoiling her with new gifts and toys, and would gladly take her everywhere with me.

She's my little baby, and if that makes me weird, than so be it!

well the landlord of the pub is a close family friend, and when i bought shadow my first sphynx i took him in to show them, shadow is such a lade back cat and i thought, why not? i show my cats so any extra handling from strangers will only make them more social and less likely to bite a judge!!! he is te only one of my cats that has ever been in the pub and thats only a handful of times.

yes i do have a mating room, well its more of a stud room, i cant have intire boys running wild with all the girlies espeacially when some are realated, the program glorifiied the room, but the majority of breeders will keep their males and females seperate.

the name immaculate is my breed and show prefix, IMMAC as in why they have no hair (not that i shave them or any thing haha) and they are always kept immaculately so the name seemed apt.

to be honest the program hasnt really done much damage, infact i have had an awful lot of kitten inquiries, and the people who know me like family and friends at the shows all know how the program had manipulated the story, for instance, their is a scene on the bed where i am dressing the cats and you can actually hear where they have taking snippets of conversation and made it seem like a whole converstaion.
i was aloud to watch a copy of the documentory 3 days before it was aired, and i had allready signed abit of paper during the making so i couldnt have stoped it.

it was horrible, when they first approached me i thought, brilliant its a chance to make people aware of the breed, as alot of people dont know much about them, i wanted to talk about the genetics, show status, breeding, and really get into it. and it was so annoying because the thing is, alot of things i do is because i show or breed them, and when i was bathing shadow they made me say why i was doing it and i said, i do this that the other before a show, then the producer would say can you say that again in your own words but miss out the bit about showing!!!

but like i said, it hasnt really fazed me, its quite funny actually and it gives me and my hubby something to laugh at that i have been portrayed like that.
